by Kimberly Schoobaar To December 26, 2020

What child doesn't love toys. Toys are not only fun to play with but also very good for your child's development. Nowadays there are so many different toys that there are plenty to choose from.

Why is playing important?

It is scientifically proven that playing makes children smarter. It stimulates not only the brain but also gross and fine motor skills. Playing is also good for building a bond with someone. If your child can play well together, it will help him make new friends at school.

What toys?

You have an awful lot of different toys. Toys can encourage children to reenact everyday events. Such as toy cash registers, miniature dolls, kitchen toys, tea sets, doctor sets and toy phones. These kinds of toys are very good for your child's development. This way your child can learn how to deal with this kind of situation in everyday life.

Emotional development

By playing with other children, a child gains all kinds of experiences. Then they can process emotions from their experiences. It helps them deal with disappointments, for example. The child develops endurance and will therefore be satisfied when it has succeeded.

Cognitive development

Playing helps children think more logically because they are well focused on something. Then they want to do it as well as possible. They learn to concentrate better.

Building

Blocks offer children infinite expression. As children get more experience building with the blocks, their creativity and imagination will expand. Not only do they develop their fine and gross motor skills, but also they can think more logically and learn to think ahead.

Why blocks are so important.

  • Thinking logically: Quantities - ordering- sequences - measuring patterns.
  • Language: Asking questions - exchanging ideas - names of buildings - concepts such as below, above, behind and so on. - recognizing and naming shapes.
  • Design: Patterns
